Treat Tuesday – Vegetarian Biscuits & Gravy

I love biscuits and gravy. I can’t eat any unless I make them myself because most-all of the restaurants make their gravy with real meat or the meat’s grease. I’m not into that. So I make it myself. If the veggie food is too much for you, you can make the gravy and not put in any patties at all. I use Morning Star, which you can get at almost any grocery store in the frozen foods section. There are several other vegetarian brands that make similar products. Choose one that looks appealing to you.

I use the pre-made biscuits that just need to be baked in your oven. While those are baking I make the gravy.

For Gravy:

* Butter

* Milk (I use 1%)

* Flour

* Salt and Pepper, to taste.

* GW Seasoning Broth (link here), any seasoning you like if you don’t want to get this broth since it’s harder to find.

* 2 – 4 Morning Star Sausage Patties (thawed and heated up in microwave or oven, just until it’s warm)

Start by melting butter in your pan. Next brown some flour. Add some milk and the GW broth. Stir constantly with a whisk adding additional flour and milk until you get a consistency that you like. Then add in the sausage patties after you break them up. Mix everything together. I butter my biscuits before I add the gravy. Do this however you’d like. I smother my biscuits in gravy and eat my heart out! One of my favorite breakfasts and comfort meals.

Serve warm and Enjoy!
